If you’ve made it here, it’s obvious that my version of The Little Red Dress Project took a different direction than most…
Red really isn’t my color, but doesn’t it look amazing on Bandit the English Bulldog? Join me on the journey of creating a couture ensemble for a high-profile Atlanta philanthropist and socialite.
Wondering how this all happened? Yep, so am I…
My co-star Bandit is a friend’s dog, and let me tell you – she is amazing in person. Friendly, well-trained, and absolutely adorable.
I was inspired to make this video by two things: the movie ‘Best in Show‘ and the annual holiday photo shoots I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Bandit and her sister, Candy, pose for.
This was the first time I’ve attempted to make dog clothing. It was definitely challenging for me, especially trying to get the fit right on a bulldog’s shape and the skirt length. Sewing with tulle was also quite an adventure, and has dissuaded me from working with it for a while. Once you unfold that stuff, all bets are off.
Cutting the rose cuddle minky caused a bit of a headache. Red fuzz floated all over my craft room and made its way onto every surface imaginable. It was like a communicable disease. I’m still discovering tiny pieces of red stuff, and have vacuumed twice in there.
Somehow the outfit did come together, and I love using sew-on crystal rhinestones. It’s my new favorite way to embellish clothing and accessories.
Thanks for hanging on there with me and watching – we had a blast making The Little Red Dress Project!
UPDATE: So I just found out Bandit the English bulldog has an Instagram account @banditbulldog, and let me tell you – it is worth a look. HILARIOUS MEMES and LOTS of costumes! https://www.instagram.com/banditbulldog/

ABOUT SEWING REPORT:
Helping you discover your love of sewing at sewingreport.com through videos, articles, and tutorials. I aim to inject humor, passion, and realism into this space.
Let me introduce myself – I’m Jennifer Moore – Atlanta-based sewing & quilting enthusiast since 2013 and television journalist with 14+ years of experience.
Ever since I discovered sewing soon after moving from the Tampa Bay area in Florida to Atlanta, I’ve been absolutely hooked. My love of all things involving a needle and thread has driven me to brainstorm ideas of how I could contribute to the community and help to encourage others to learn to sew. If I can do it, you really can too!
I’d love to hear from you! Connect with me at sewingreport@gmail.com. Interested in collaborating on a video with me? I’m up for that too!
