English Paper Piecing is an incredibly beautiful form of making a quilt top or for use in other sewing projects, but the thought of hand basting each individual piece did not appeal to me.
I came up with 2 different ways to create hexagon shapes WITHOUT hand stitching, and one method doesn’t require the paper templates at all – just a straight edge and a temporary marking pen for fabric.
Of course, after you make all the hexagons – you can either hand stitch those together or use a tiny zigzag stitch and invisible thread to join them.
My original purpose for wanting to make these adorable hexies is to create projects like Nicole from Modern Handcraft does – her work is amazing!
